It is terrible that for profit groups like the one highlighted, keep students from an education and put them in debt, too. The truth about charter schools (which vie with our public ones
for students) is that 67% of them are also for profit. Public education, besides not
getting enough government funding must also compete with charter schools. Charter schools, even though many show good results on test scores also contribute to the fact
that all education today is overly test driven, ultimately teaching our youth to memorize
data, but not to think. It is no surprise that corporate money funding charter
(for profit schools) seems to be turning out students who will readily follow orders,
but not think creatively nor outside the box. In a larger sense for profit schools are changing the quality of the education system, and not for the better.
